Nothing for Free?

I’m about to break a myth. You and I know that there’s no free lunch, however every so often, we stumble on something that confuses us. We think we know better but do we? Someone offers you a free sample and as much as you want to reach out and take it, you pull back cautiously.

However, this is a deal you don’t want to pass up. Do you want to get 2 dozen golf balls free? Sure you do. What’s the catch? You simply have to buy something. Yeh, before you shut my post down and move on, you have to hear me out. I know you have heard this before BUT you don’t have to spend alot of money. Can you afford 2 dollars?

Ok, so you don’t need a set of knit headcovers but for $1.99 for a 3 pack – give it away for Christmas. Can’t you use a set of 4 Datrek Ladies’ Driver covers? Don’t know 4 ladies you can give it to for stocking stuffers? How about paying $1.99 for all 4 covers? If you don’t mind looking, you can find something useful and less than $2.

To get your 2 dozen golf balls, click on the ‘RockbottomGolf’ banner on your right and look up the 2 dozen Caveman golf balls and add it to your cart. Then add your purchase. When you checkout, scroll down and in the coupon box, enter the word ‘CavemanBalls’ and the Apply button. You will get a credit of $19.98 which will deduct the cost of the balls in your cart.

Example: For $8.98, I am going to get a set of 3 knit headcovers along with 2 dozen golf balls shipped.

Golf Purses

For the unsuspecting shopper at select golf courses such as the Westin Mission Hills Golf Course in Palm Desert, the small Callaway purse for $25 is a steal. However, if you are willing to go down Highway 11 to one of the Marshall`s stores, you can find the larger Callaway purses and tote bags for $7 and $10 respectively. We managed to find them in Icy Blue but my wife would have preferred to see them in White or Black.

If you are looking for cheap golf balls then head over to Stein Mart where you can buy a case of Maxfli balls for $9.99 and get a second case for half price. That`s 24 balls for less than $16. Top Flite XL balls for $9.99 and Nike NDX balls for $12.99.

Ladies, if you are looking for high end purses to borrow, use the coupon code: OKM10443 at Bag, Borrow or Steal.

A lot of Coupons

I see that alot of you like searching for promo codes and coupons, especially ones to use at Golf Town. I’m sorry that Golf Town doesn’t like using promo codes like a lot of online merchants such as Pro Golf, Golf Balls.com, 3Balls and others. We have a coupon at our site to save 15% off almost everthing at Pro Golf.

Recently I posted a promo code for Air Canada where some people took advantage of saving up to 50% off flights to Honolulu in September. I used it myself to compare prices, first without the code then with. The promo code slashed the price from $290 to $145 one way from Calgary to Honolulu.

One of the things that you might have noticed about using promo codes is that they only limit you to using one code per order. With GolfBalls.com, you can either get free shipping on orders over $75 with the code: SHIPFORFREE or a 10% discount using the code: LABORDAYSALE. Don’t get fooled by the name because they sell a lot more things than golf balls.

If you’ve been sitting on the fence with custom clubs, today may be the day you decide to go for it. Here’s three codes that expire today at Gigagolf. Save 20% off the P2 Ti driver (that looks like a Ping) if you use the code: 6654 when you checkout. Save 15% a Revelation set if you use the code: 5568. And lastly, save 30% off the GX920 Hybrid if you use the code: 5521. Custom clubs doesn’t have to be expensive, especially if you buy it online. You can buy a custom fitted hybrid for as low as $39.50 at Gigagolf.

On the electronics front, save 15% off everything if you use the code: LD15 at Shop4Tech.com – you source for media, supplies and electronic gadgets. Get $10 off any $50 order at Shoes.com including shoes by Keen, Merrell, Skechers, Calvin Klein and more. Coupon is on our site.

Free Maxfli Cap

If you hurry to our site, you can still catch the free cap offer. Don’t go there before visiting us because you will need a coupon code that will save you $14.95 or the price of the cap. Just buy something for $1 and get the Maxfli cap for free. Or spend $5 and get it personalized. Either way, you will need a coupon code when you check out.

The offer expires tonight at 11:59pm so hurry. And if you are looking for something to buy, pick up some logo overruns which are brand new balls but have someone else’s logo on it. Don’t worry, the logo isn’t going to interfere with your shotmaking abilities. If anything, it will probably make it fly better.

Free Drinks and Great Golf

Mondays must be really slow at golf courses because most courses offer their best deals on Monday. Today we played at Springbank Links and we were off on a good start when the starter presented us with drink coupons. These coupons led us to the Gallery after our round and the first round of drinks were on them. I had a Grasshopper and my wife had a Corona. We ordered a Nachos to share and had a good time watching the Stamps lose to the Rough Riders. They had a nice selection on the menu ranging from bison burgers to pasta, all at very reasonable prices.

You can play Springbank Links for only $45 on Mondays. Get a cart for the front nine and give yourself a chance. Bring lots of balls because you are bound to lose a lot of them. There are too many ravines to deal with so make sure you are hitting them long and straight before going there. Otherwise a dozen balls is not enough.

Another thing you can do after your round is to fill out their feedback form and enter it in a draw for a Nike bag, green fees and cart.

Promo Code for Marriott Hotels

I wish we could find a way to lessen the fuel costs so we can get back to traveling around the country. I have a promo code for you to use to access Marriott Hotels and Resorts Exclusive Breaks which are last minute weekend rates at various locations. For example, you can stay in Louisiana Baton Rouge from $63 to $87 per night. Or go to Edmonton and stay at the Marriott for $143 per night. To book, go the Marriott site directly and enter MEB as the promo code.

I also have a promo code that will save you 20% off all hotel stays from Orbitz. You will have to visit us for this one. Sorry.

If you are in the market for a Taylor Made Burner 460 Ti driver, you might as well get a free umbrella with it at TGW. And if you don’t mind playing with 2-year old balls, the 2006 Nike One balls are selling at $24.95. I’m sure they play just as well as the 2008 model but you might have to shake the dust off these gems.

Free Unclaimed Golf Balls

There is a golf clearance going on at SportChek’s. But my wife has lost all confidence buying from them. The reason was because she almost got suckered into buying a box of 15 balls for $17.99 when they advertised a 12 ball box for only $8.99. She found the flyer sitting next to the balls and figured it was a good deal until they rung it up. After we found out, we asked them if they had any more of the 12 ball boxes and they said they were sold out. Did they ever stock these $8.99 boxes of balls?

Today the flyer is selling Callaway Big Bertha drivers for $149.99. I think at this price, I would rather pay $50 more and get the Callaway FT-3 driver. I played a golf tournament yesterday and the long drive champion used a FT-3 driver. He out drove us all with Nike Sumo, Taylor Made Beast, Tour Edge Bazooka and Callaway FT-i driver. Follow my blogroll and get yourself a Callaway FT-3 driver for $199.95.

If you are looking to find a lot of premium golf balls, book yourself a tee time at HeatherGlen on Glenmore Trail and 100 Street in Calgary. The big hitters are using balls such as Titleist Pro V1 balls, Nike One Platinum and Callaway HX Tour balls but often, these balls find their way to opposite fairways. I found at least 3 of each of these unclaimed balls yesterday.

Today’s deal on golf balls is the Nike Super Far balls for a clearance price of $12.95 per dozen. Use the coupon SHIPFORFREE and get free standard shipping to the US. These balls are explosive off the tee and go a long way down the fairway. Make sure you visit us first for additional savings.

Promo Code at Golf Town

At $10 a shirt at Golf Town, I don’t think you will need a coupon or promo code. Every time I’ve been there, I have seen a rack near the front with $10, $15 and $20 goodies on there. This week, I dropped in on Wednesday and found a nice Aureus sweater for $20. I’m sure it sold for a lot more in the winter. I added it to my Tiger Woods cashmere sweater worth $400 that I also picked up for $10.

Also at Golf Town, I noticed the redesigned CROCS with golf spikes. Now that the CROCS company have BITE GOLF as a subsidiary, we can expect to see a lot more golf sandals in the lineup. I tried one on and I can tell you, it wasn’t very comfortable. My foot was sliding around and my toes were jammed up against the plastic. I can see wearing CROCS for the garden but not on the golf course.

All the golf balls look like they are on sale. I still buy my golf balls from KNetGolf because I cannot afford losing a $6 ball (ie. Titleist Pro V1). I like using expensive balls but don’t want to pay for them. Instead, I will use a coupon and pay $12 for a box of grade A, experienced balls. Now when I lose it, I only lose a buck and a stroke penalty. Be sure to pick up a coupon code from us before you shop there.

All the clubs look like they are on sale too. The unsuccessful (hard-wired) Taylor Made Burner Draw driver is now selling for under $200. If you have a natural slice to your swing, try out the Draw driver and see if it straightens your shot. The Nickent square driver is on sale for $100 – not bad if you want a clone of Callaway FT-i driver or the Nike Sumo Square. I prefer to stick to name brand clubs and like the prices on 3Balls Golf. Again, pick up the coupon code from our site and save yourself an additional 10% off.

Bazooka for $10

I bought a Bazooka today for only $10. Originally marked for $60, Tour Edge’s Bazooka 5-wood sold for more than 80% off. I also picked up a Tiger Woods sweater originally marked for $400 for just $10. And I added 2 more Ashworth golf shirts to my closet for $15 each. Where did I get all these great deals? At Golf Town. But you have to hurry because these deals won’t last.

Also at Winner’s, I found a box of 12 Nike Power Distance Super Far balls for $14.99. If you like Slazenger Raw balls, you can pick up a box for $12.99. They also had Titleist Sunday bags and golf travel bags for $49.99. In the clothing section, they had PGA Tour gift packs that included a hat, socks and a t-shirt for $16.99 and Titleist caps for $7.99.

Outside of the golf department, Winner’s is selling iHomeAudio alarm clocks and speaker systems for iPods at internet prices. My favorite is still the Wireless Sound System Model Evolve by Griffin that allows you to move the speakers around once your iPod is connected.
