Today’s stock market was down because there is no consumer confidence on spending. Hmmm, I guess it doesn’t include me as I have been shopping online since January. I think this is a buyer’s market. Everyone in the right mind is saving their money except moi who is buying up things – anything that is a good deal!
Today I bought myself a pair of shoes and bought my wife one too. Have you ever heard about Teva? If you shop at REI or some mountain store, you will most likely see brands like Merrell, Keen and Teva. Like all these recreational shoes, Teva can be quite pricey. But I did say this is a buyer’s market so here’s the deal. Click here and take a look at what is on sale at Teva. Believe it or not, they are selling some cool shoes as low as $19.90.
Shipping is $5.95 per shoe but if you sign up to receive their emails, they will send you a code that you can use (instantly) to get free shipping.

How often do you go out for dinner? If you live in the US or plan to visit the US, be sure to check out the list of restaurants and deals at Restaurant.com where you can pick up certificates at a substantial discount. For example on my last trip to Palm Springs, I managed to try out a quaint Thai restaurant with a $25 gift certificate that I had purchased for $10. Now you can too by going to Restaurant.com and entering the coupon: EXCLUSIVE. With this coupon, you can buy a $25 gift certificate (valid for any food purchase at a select restaurant) for only $4.
Still hibernating? With Spring around the corner, this may be the time to take advantage of MooseJaw’s incredible up to 50% off North Face. Note that NorthFace offers a lifetime warranty on all of its clothing. Just bring it back to where you purchased it and they will send it back to North Face for repairs. Moosejaw offers free shipping for all orders over $49.
Need a haircut? First Choice Haircutters have a reminder service on their website. Add a reminder and receive a $2 off coupon. Or visit Tylenol and print out a $2 coupon off your next bottle of Tylenol. Fight off a cold by using Cold-FX. Here’s a $2 coupon for your next bottle. And you might as well print this coupon too for $1.50 off an Aveeno Moisturizing lotion.

When it comes to running a small business, either from home or in an office, it is vital that you fully stock your business with supplies. I’ve shared a Staples $20 off coupon with you before but it comes with a $150 minimum purchase. It’s not hard to rack up the bill, especially if your business needs a new external hard drive or a new printer. Even school supplies can easily make up for the $150 minimum. Here’s the coupon anyways: 5991592125470472. Use it online or by phone.
Any of you planning a Walt Disney World vacation? If so and you are planning to stay onsite at one of the WDW resorts then get free shuttle service from Orlando airport to your Disney resort. This is called the Disney Magical Express and is available to guests staying at all the WDW resort hotels. To get this service, simply ask for it by name when reserving your WDW vacation. Reservations made prior to 30 days from departure will get special luggage tags sent to you. Disney will automatically transfer your luggage from the airport to the resort.
While in Florida, rent a mid-size SUV from Dollar for only $37.99 per day. Or in Tampa, get a mid-size SUV for only $169.00 per week from Alamo.

If I was in the market for a small, compact notebook computer to carry around on my travels, I would choose the HP Mini 1010NR Atom Notebook. With its built-in 802.11b/g, I can connect to the internet via a hotspot or wi-fi connection. It has a full-size keyboard and a 8.9 inch display, not to shabby for a quick email on the road or to watch a dvd movie on a plane. The best thing when travelling is its weight. Coming in at 2.23 pounds, the HP Mini is perfect for school and for carrying around. Its small footprint runs at 1.66 GHz and has a 8GB hard drive. At eCost, you can pick one up for $406.99.
These days, memory is cheap. You can get 1 terrabyte external hard drives for under $120. What’s not cheap is software. Microsoft Office is roughly $110 to $170, depending on if you are a student or not. With Microsoft Office, you have a word processor, spreadsheet and a presentation tool. The good thing about MS Office is that you can run it on a Windows PC or on a Mac. The bad thing is that you cannot readily share documents created in MS Office with your friends unless they have MS Office. Until now…
Check out ZOHO. On this website, you have access to a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation tool, email, public repository, notebook taker, planner, database application, web conferencing, report writer, human resource tracker and more. The price? For an individual, it’s free. For a business, fees will vary but compare that to multi-user or site licences and you will find ZOHO to be competitively priced. The nice thing about ZOHO is that you don’t need to install anything on your PC and you don’t need to worry about upgrading the software which usually results to compatibility issues or increased costs.
Decluttering Shoes January 5, 2009

One of my new year’s resolution is to get organized. In the days to come, I will be sharing with you, excerpts or lessons learned from reading a book on ‘decluttering’. Today, I started with my collection of shoes. According to the book, the best way to go through your shoe collection is to try them on. I found at least 10 pairs of shoes that no longer fit me. Instead of tossing them out, I will donate them to charity. If you are interested in donating running shoes, check out this link and choose a worthy organization to donate your used running shoes to. For other type of shoes, the Salvation Army or Goodwill will take your old shoes off you.
Talking about shoes, I dropped in to the Las Vegas Premium Outlets over the Christmas week. I had to try on the golf shoes at Ecco to see what the hype was. All the guys at Golf Town wear Ecco shoes and recommends them so I had to find out for myself whether they were worth the money or not. They were comfortable but I couldn’t get myself to pay more than $150 for a pair, even at outlet prices. Instead, I would choose a pair of Nike or Adidas shoes for comfort and value. From now to January 15th, click on the green banner on our site for “more than golf balls” and enter WINTERSALE as the promo code to save additional money.
Dollar Stores for Stocking Stuffers December 16, 2008

My feet is cold today and it doesn’t matter how thick my wool socks are. I hear it’s cold and snowy out in Vancouver, not the warm and sunny location that I have fixated in my head. Alright, as long as there is a compact car waiting for me at the airport tonight, I will be pleased that I did my homework and booked the best rate on the internet. Btw, I used LM78 at Thrifty’s and it did not work for me this time. However, it did work for me for my Vegas trip later this month because I managed to book a compact car for only $10 a day. What a deal! However, tonight is with Alamo and I used my corporate id # 675899 to get a 4-day rental for only $65 including taxes and all.
Have you been shopping at the dollar stores lately? I did and I managed to find a few stocking stuffers including the stocking itself for a buck. I don’t recommend buying your spouse’s Christmas gift there but for your pet, your neighbor’s cat or the odd stocking stuffer then go for it. Dollar Giant or MegaDollar stores seem to have the best stock of things.
Here are my picks today:
1. Travelling Buddies – I picked up a few items for friends that travel alot. They include luggage tags, luggage locks, inflatable pillows to wear around your neck, over the neck safety wallets, L.E.D. flashlights, calculators to help with currency exchange and bubble envelopes for my friends to send gifts to me from abroad.
2. Pets – I found a few interesting things such as frisbees, bones to gnaw on, toys for cats, costumes for Christmas including Santa outfits, reindeer antlers and pet treats.
3. Household items – There are alot to choose from but my picks include extra rubbermaid containers for leftovers, funny mugs and laser engraved crystals.
4. Toys – Look for puzzles or card games.
5. iPod – Everyone has iPods and they love their accessories. Most dollar stores have a nice variety of accessories such as cases, earbuds, faceplates, stick-ons, purses, etc.
Deal or No Deal December 11, 2008

I know Christmas is around the corner and I should be out there shopping but I’m not. What’s your excuse? I guess my reason is because on Global TV, they were saying that things were going to get cheaper as it gets closer to Christmas. Is that true? Hmmm.
I was at Wal-mart last night and noticed the Casio LK-100 keyboard with lighted keys is on sale for $97. If you check online, you can get it anywhere from $107 and up. Remember that’s not the delivered price. Shipping charges still needs to be applied.
If you’re still looking for deals at Linen & Things, keep waiting because now they’re advertising on tv and they said they have slashed prices from 20%-60% off. In my opinion, that’s hardly any dent to the high prices they are charging. For example, I bought a 2-pack water filters for my Braun coffee maker at a discounted price of $11. The Bay sold it for $14.99. Deal or no deal? Last Chance Liquidation on Barlow Trail proved that it was not a good deal because they have the exact filter pack for only $2.50.
Don’t go crazy at Wal-marts just because they are open 24 hours. Yesterday I bought a pack of Chinet party plates and today I returned it because Superstore sold it for $2 less. And since you are at Superstore, you might as well pick up J.K. Rowling’s new book titled “Beedle of the Bard” for $7.49 as oppose to $10.48 at Wal-mart.
Can’t decide on someone who has everything? Give a restaurant gift card via Restaurant.com – and save up to 70% off today using the code: ONLINE.
Wii Scuba Dive December 11, 2008

Some of us can’t swim and refuse to learn. Others embrace it. If you have always wondered what’s it like, scuba diving that is, take a lesson from Adventures in Scuba. Most establishments in this area offer an introductory lesson in scuba that teaches you the basics of submerging yourself into the sport. You learn about breathing through the apparatus, air mixture and safety. In all, it’s a good experience to at least try out. And even if you don’t swim, or know how, the introductory lesson does not require any swimming. As long as you can squat and not get nervous in water, you will be fine. Next time you visit a tropical location, you might want to check out the activities at the pool. Most resorts offer the introductory lesson for free or a small nominal charge.
If you are still curious about scuba and want to learn more about the creatures underwater, you might want to pick yourself up Endless Oceans for the Wii. With the remote, you guide your diver through caves, past corals and into the deep. Along the way, you encounter fascinating creatures such as moray eels and sea snakes. The occasional manta ray flies by and watch out for the tail on the stingray. Endless Oceans currently sells for under $29 at Wal-Mart and if you’re in the market for a Wii console, the Wal-Mart at WestBrook Mall has a new shipment. As of yesterday, they had over 8 units in the showcase. The Wii console comes with Wii Sports which is still my favorite game disc.
As for the Wii Fit balance board, I haven’t seen any in town. The only place I see has any stock on it is eCost and if you’re lucky to be on their site at the right time, you can pick up the Wii console for $99.

They say rewards will come to those who wait. If you have been patient and not buy any escape tickets then you are in luck because there’s a special from Calgary to Las Vegas from December 14-18 for only $375 with taxes. This includes roundtrip air and 4-nights accomodation at Circus, Circus. And talk about the Circus, ticket buyers were snapping up pre-sale tickets to Britney Spears concert in Edmonton last night. She is playing in Edmonton in April and the Pussycat Dolls are the warm up band.
Have you noticed all the Wii consoles on store shelves this year? Last year at the same time, there were none. The one thing you won’t find in any stores is the Wii balance board. If you want one, I recommend that you go to our site and click on eCost. Under the Bargain Countdown, look for the Outrageous icon before midnight tonight. If you see it, click on one to buy because you get it for a ridiculous price, at only $49.
