It’s funny when it comes to putters, you can never have enough in your garage. Most of my friends that I golf with have two, perhaps three putters in their spare room. My friend Wayne has at least 5 of them and Jeff has 7 of them but likes the K-mart special the best because it’s the cheapest and makes the most putts. After playing at the Hamptons’ Member Guest tournament, I now have 2 putters. I finally took the new one out yesterday to Wintergreen and did pretty well with it. It all comes down to feel and experience. When I hovered over my ball, I really did not know how much to hit the ball with. Because of a lack of experience, I had no idea to how fast the ball will roll once I smack it.

My brother-in-law swears by his two ball putter. So does my wife’s aunt. They seem to like their Odyssey Two-Ball putters. And I have to admit, our favorite golfing pair did pretty well yesterday. If you are interested in one, you can get one from our site for $99.50 which is more than 50% off its orginal price.

For you who like custom clubs, you can have a putter built for you too. Like irons, you can get fitted for one that will help you sink more putts. The guys at Golf Town tells me that there are basically three types of putters out there. And if you check their prices, you can easily determine the price levels. Under $150, between $150 and $200 and over $201. What’s the difference? It all comes down to feel and how much you believe in the technology that gets your ball rolling faster.

I personally think you can custom build a putter for less than $40.
