I see that alot of you like searching for promo codes and coupons, especially ones to use at Golf Town. I’m sorry that Golf Town doesn’t like using promo codes like a lot of online merchants such as Pro Golf, Golf Balls.com, 3Balls and others. We have a coupon at our site to save 15% off almost everthing at Pro Golf.
Recently I posted a promo code for Air Canada where some people took advantage of saving up to 50% off flights to Honolulu in September. I used it myself to compare prices, first without the code then with. The promo code slashed the price from $290 to $145 one way from Calgary to Honolulu.
One of the things that you might have noticed about using promo codes is that they only limit you to using one code per order. With GolfBalls.com, you can either get free shipping on orders over $75 with the code: SHIPFORFREE or a 10% discount using the code: LABORDAYSALE. Don’t get fooled by the name because they sell a lot more things than golf balls.
If you’ve been sitting on the fence with custom clubs, today may be the day you decide to go for it. Here’s three codes that expire today at Gigagolf. Save 20% off the P2 Ti driver (that looks like a Ping) if you use the code: 6654 when you checkout. Save 15% a Revelation set if you use the code: 5568. And lastly, save 30% off the GX920 Hybrid if you use the code: 5521. Custom clubs doesn’t have to be expensive, especially if you buy it online. You can buy a custom fitted hybrid for as low as $39.50 at Gigagolf.
On the electronics front, save 15% off everything if you use the code: LD15 at Shop4Tech.com – you source for media, supplies and electronic gadgets. Get $10 off any $50 order at Shoes.com including shoes by Keen, Merrell, Skechers, Calvin Klein and more. Coupon is on our site.

A long weekend is coming up fast and everyone I know is heading out for their last getaway before school starts. The weather doesn’t sound good neither, with a cool down coming our way by Friday night. Believe it or not, by Sunday, it’s going to be a cool 12 degrees celsius. And Monday isn’t much better.
I’m getting itchy feet and have scoured the travel websites for a last minute deal. Here’s what I found:
1. R/T to London from Calgary or Vancouver for $755. Slightly cheaper for Toronto and Montreal at $585. With British Airways, you get a 2-day London Pass for free, allowing you to visit Kensington Palace and London Tower and more.
2. Calgary to Puerto Vallarta for only $99. With taxes, it comes out to $427.
3. Calgary to Puerto Vallarta, all-inclusive for 1 week at $548.
4. Toronto to Orlando, return for only $28. With taxes, it comes out to $210 but you have to pack your bags and leave on Saturday.
And talking about itchy feet, we have a new affiliate Shoes.com and they have all the shoes that I like – Keen, Merrell, Skechers and more. You can expect to see my favorites reviewed on our site in the next few days.
Keen on Keen Shoes August 28, 2008

It’s that time again to visit the Hawaiian Islands but this time, it is going to be different. I’m still searching for Pele but this time, I’m going to be prepared for the trek. If you’re up for it, make sure you bring the proper gear. Otherwise, you’ll be forced to turn back and miss the sight of hot flowing lava from the most active volcano in the Pacific Rim.
Starting with my feet, I plan on bringing two of my favorite Keen
shoes. The Newport sandal is rugged enough to hike over lava. I especially like the Keen’s signature toe cap that is mandatory when hiking around lava because one false move and your toes can easily get cut up. The uppers is waterproof and the lycra neoprene lining will keep my feet comfortable during the long ho
urs climbing up and down the rocks.
The second pair I plan to bring is the Newport Trail shoe, also from Keen. I plan to wear this pair when hiking through lava tubes or exploring around the volcano park. The Newport Trail shoe is a mid low cut hiking style shoe. Again it has the signature toe cap for the accidental rock kick or toe plant.
My wife can tell you that she will never wear open toes sandals anymore. She tripped on the stairs at the Doge’s Palace in Venice and jammed her toes against the marble steps. That’s when we fell in love with Keen sandals.

Free Callaway Golf August 27, 2008

I was cleaning out my golf bag today and came upon some ball markers that I picked up along the way. I have markers from Riviera in the Pacific Palisades where some of you may have heard about ‘Hogan’s Alley’. I picked up these gems when I attended the Nissan Open and walked alongside with Tiger Woods, Mike Weir and John Daly. I even got some autographs at the putting green.
I haven’t been to a major golf tournament but I have friends who have attended the Masters and the PGA Championship. They say it is awesome to be among the crowd and to walk with your favorite players. I think it is the atmosphere and the inspiration that you come away with. It elevates your game after you have experienced the event and have seen their fluid swing.
Watching golf on television has its limitations but there are advantages as well. For example, if you watched the Barclay tournament last weekend, you might have noticed the Lending Tree ad. Depending upon your loan amount, you can earn free Callaway equipment or free golf rounds. For example, if you borrow $100,000 you will receive a $250 gift card for Callaway golf or $250 worth of golf rounds. With a maximum of $750, you can get new irons and one of those new Warbird Hot golf bags to hold the clubs.

My friends are sailing today on the Carnival Freedom from Rome. I google’d the ship and found a webcam located on the bridge and on the aft of the ship. The weather looked great in Civitavecchia where their cruise ship is docked. No one including me, would have guessed that the port terminal was located so far from city center. Taking a cab from Rome seemed to take forever, almost reaching the airport then taking a northernly route to Civitavecchia.
They promised they would visit the Vatican City and see the Sistine Chapel. I doubt they would have ventured out to see the Trevi fountain, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, Colloseum and the Roman forum. Perhaps, all of that would have been covered by the day tour they took. Even that, it would have been a stretch to see all these sights in a day tour. I have been to Rome twice and have never seen the Colloseum up close. The one thing I was happy to see the last time I was there was the Pantheon.
I’m currently reading a book titled the Secret History of the Roman Emperors by Anthony Blond. I’ve always been fascinated about the topic and wanted to read something about the Romans. Some of these emperors were pretty ruthless and it helps put a meaning to my travel photos that I took of the Roman forum.
Looking for a great cruise to go on? Check out Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Seas, sailing on November 13th for 12 nights. At $899 for an interior cabin, it comes to out to $74.92 per night. That’s a pretty good deal for accomodations, at least 3 meals a day, snacks, sports and entertainment.
Play at your own risk August 24, 2008

Our golf game was cut short yesterday because the twosome that played with us at Shaw-Nee, managed to shank a ball into my wife’s shins. She collapsed to the ground and gave out a mercy cry. We sent the twosome on their way as I called the clubhouse for help. No one was manning the main number so I helped my wife to the bench and I ran to get help. I stopped the beverage cart lady along the way and asked if she would drive my wife to the clubhouse. She obliged. Left with two carts , I walked back alone, panting and out of breath.
When I reached the clubhouse, I had to take a glimpse of the front desk. There in plain sight, were the three attendants, unaware of my desperate call and unsympathetic. I think beginners should stay at courses like Richmond Green or McCall lake 9 until they can hit the ball reasonably. The twosome that played with us could have killed someone.
I found my wife sitting in the restaurant with an ice pack on her leg. She was still in pain. The marshal was trying to comfort her. I think he was concerned about liability and reached out to shake my hands when he saw me. I was furious.
If you’re going to play at Shaw-Nee Slopes, do so at your own risk. Don’t get hurt because no one will help you.
Weather Watch? August 23, 2008

Do you live in a neighborhood where every other house is getting re-roofed? I do. My roofing guys had just finished off the remaining shingles on Monday and they are now invoicing me. They left a mess on my driveway and there are unused supplies still sitting there. I have called the main number and told them to pick it up but they deferred it to the end of the week. It is at the end of the week and guess what? It’s still sitting there. Anyone need a recommendation? Well, don’t expect me to recommend Rush Roofing anytime soon. My wife thinks they should change their name to Non-Rush Roofing.
They also promised me they were going to install WeatherWatch on my eaves and valleys for free. However when the delivery truck arrived at my doorsteps, I went over the packing slip and did not find the WeatherWatch material anywhere. Unless you know what to look for or dare to climb up to the roof with them, you have no guarantee to what they have installed (or not).

If you hurry to our site, you can still catch the free cap offer. Don’t go there before visiting us because you will need a coupon code that will save you $14.95 or the price of the cap. Just buy something for $1 and get the Maxfli cap for free. Or spend $5 and get it personalized. Either way, you will need a coupon code when you check out.
The offer expires tonight at 11:59pm so hurry. And if you are looking for something to buy, pick up some logo overruns which are brand new balls but have someone else’s logo on it. Don’t worry, the logo isn’t going to interfere with your shotmaking abilities. If anything, it will probably make it fly better.
