When you get a rate break in golf, take it and run with it. In organizing our charity golf tournament on August 10th, 2008, I’ve been talking with Nevada Bob’s Golf and Golf Town, two of the bigger players in retail golf equipment and apparel in the city. Nevada Bob’s Golf, especially at the Signal Hill location has been very easy to deal with and has provided free golf towels and umbrellas for our charity giveaway. Golf Town, however has not been so generous. They rely on their corporate donation desk to decide whether your charity event deserves support or not. In our case, they exceeded their donation allocation this year and declined our request. 

In light of my situation, I decided to work with Golf Town to get a reduction on products for future golf tournaments or bloggers like you. They would not commit to a percentage-off arrangement but is trying hard to win me over as a corporate customer. I will keep you in the loop if I set up anything with them that is worth sharing with you.
