“We can’t guarantee the weather but we can guarantee free golf at more than 100 courses”. That’s what the new ad that RCGA is running in magazines and on tv. It’s interesting how this card works. The cost to join is $24.95. With your initial membership, you get a 1/2 price green fee voucher for each and every participating course. Every time you play at a given course, you will earn 1 eagle for every green fee paid. When you’ve collected 5 eagles on a particular course, you will earn a free round of golf on that course. For example, if you pay for 5 green fees at SilverTip in Canmore, you will earn a free round of golf worth $175 in peak season. Or if you pay for 5 green fees at Sun Rivers Resort in Kamloops then you will earn a free voucher for a round of golf there.
It is RCGA’s intent to promote golf in Canada and that’s what the RCGA golf card will do. The 1/2 price green fee voucher per participating course is only valid either early in the season or late in the season, but the free vouchers can be used from Monday to Thursday or after 1pm in the weekends. The RCGA card can also earn you birdies which are earned when you spend money in the proshop. Eventually, RCGA will partner with corporations to offer you the chance to earn birdies outside of golf courses.
If you’re interested in joining, visit the RCGA site.
I used it last year when it was known as the SKINS card. It really works. The best part is that you can redeem AIR MILES reward miles for rounds of golf or even buy the card using AIR MILES. Even if the half price voucher is for the shoulder season, all you have to do is use one of the vouchers and you have paid for the card!
Thanks iskiandgolf for dropping by. I didn’t know you can buy the card using AIR MILES. That’s great to know!
