I guess I am bargain hunter when it comes to shopping. Some people prefer to shop at shopping malls, others like boutique shopping, I like rummaging through clearance piles and going to liquidation centers and warehouse sales. Has anybody been to XS Cargo lately? I went to the one in Richmond, BC yesterday and picked up a few boxes of Callaway balls for $4. Each box had 2 sleeves in it so I got 6 Callaway balls for $4. Not a bad deal when it comes to Callaway Big Bertha balls.
I also went down to the Liquidation Outlet on No.3 road, just across the ways from Superstore. They had golf bags there for $60, Orlimar drivers and hybrids for $60 and Tommy Armour clubs for $10. I didn’t pick up anything there but some gift wrapping bows, 20 for a buck. The cashier gave me a funny look when I bought so many bows. I’d figured the next time I gift wrap a present, I’ll stick a bow on it.
On the way back, I dropped in to Golf Town on Bridgeport Road. I like their selection of clubs and golf bags, but the clothing is outrageous. No wonder they say golf is an expensive sport. The best deal for golf shirts is at Old Navy but if you want to wear brand names in golf such as Nike, Callaway, Adidas and Ping – go to Winners and save some money. Or drive down to Bellingham or Burlington and find a Ross store to shop at. There you will find incredible deals on Nike, Callaway, Ashworth, Bobby Jones, PGA Tour, Greg Norman and more names. There is also a Callaway/ Ashworth outlet store in Tualip which reminds me, it’s time again to drive down and load up.
