If you took advantage of my blog titled ‘Cruising for $34 per night’, you would only wait a little more than a month before you set sail to Barcelona, Spain. Along the way, you are going to visit Ponta Delgada, the largest and most populous city in the Azores. If I was going with you, I would begin my search on Google and look up Ponta Delgada and its famous landmarks. The search results reveal that there are two main things to look for in Ponta Delgada - the crater lake and the architecture. If you check your shore excursion options on the Royal Caribbean website, you’ll see that there’s no tours that cover both avenues. If it was me, I would choose the shorter of the two tours offered to see the crater. It’s not a matter of value paying $30 for an hour and a half or paying $46 for three hours. Of course from a pay-2-much point of view, the latter tour is probably more worth it. But after touring for three hours, you will probably want to return to the ship to rest or to eat. Taking the short hour and a half tour will leave the afternoon free for your own touring around town. That would give you plenty of time to do some shopping, sightseeing and snapping of photographs.
I hope you have started planning for your transatlantic cruise. From now to then, I hope I can share some of my cruising experience with you before we send you off on a bon voyage. Remember, you will leaving a lot of envious people like me behind.
